My name is Suniti, and I’m the founder of Gau Authentic – the first UK-based supplier (as far as I know) to directly import Gir cow dung powder fertiliser from India.
But this isn’t just a business for me. It’s a deeply personal journey rooted in heritage, tradition, and a vision for a more sustainable future.

Over 20 years ago, in the peaceful village of Puni, Gujarat, my family founded Gokul Gaushalla. A cowshed dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Indian farming. Our Gaushalla is home to the revered Gir cows, known for their gentle nature and the incredible benefits their dung offers for soil health.

At Gokul Gaushalla, everything is done with care, respect for nature, and complete authenticity. We do not source our dung powder from anywhere else. It comes exclusively from our family-run operation. That’s the only way I can ensure the purity and quality of what I bring to the UK.

Although I was born and raised in the UK, my roots remain deeply connected to India. I spent part of my education living with family in Gujarat, where I immersed myself in our traditional way of life especially on our ancestral farm. That’s where I witnessed, firsthand, the difference that natural farming methods can make. The soil was richer, the crops stronger, and the entire process more in harmony with the earth.

After returning to the UK, I continued my career in IT. But the memory of our farm, our cowshed, and our sustainable practices never left me. As I watched the growing demand in the UK for organic and eco-friendly gardening solutions, I realised there was an opportunity and a responsibility to bridge these two worlds. That’s how Gau Authentic was born.
